The new comprehensive local needs assessment is designed as the foundation of Perkins V implementation at the local level—it should drive local application development and spending decisions, and if done well, can be a powerful tool for driving statewide needs and opportunities for improving your entire CTE system. However, the state role in the development of the local needs assessment is critical. This session will build on the earlier breakout session to share detailed information on the requirements, process and leadership levers specifically related to the needs assessment. State teams will also have time to work together to begin thinking through critical questions related to their approach to this important element.
